Art Deco Theodore Haviland Limoges Duck Creamer by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz

Elevate your bar cart or tabletop with this iconic piece of French Art Deco porcelain. Designed by the world-renowned Swiss sculptor Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (1881-1971) for Theodore Haviland Limoges, this “Canard” creamer is a masterclass in stylized form.

Originally part of a larger figural tea set created circa 1917, the creamer features a bold deep pink-and-white glazed body accented by a vibrant green beak and matching webbed feet. Sandoz’s signature geometric handle and lidded “head” design embody the sleek, modernist aesthetic that defined early 20th-century French design.

Measuring 6 3/8″ tall x 7″ long x 4 1/2″ wide, it is in overall great condition. It does have a chip along both sides of the inside of his “beak.” It cannot be seen when the duck’s head is placed on its body, nor does it prevent using the pitcher.

Although minimalist in detail, the sculpture is exquisite in its personality. This is a highly collectible survivor of a legendary artistic partnership, perfect for the “Artistic Animal” enthusiast looking for a rare avian treasure to add to their collection.
