Mid-Century J.C. Seagraves Pottery Bird Flower Holder and Candlestick

A centerpiece of exceptional folk art provenance, this handcrafted earthenware vessel was created by the renowned Pennsylvania master potter James Christian Seagraves (JCS). This multi-functional object serves as a sculptural figurine, an Ikebana-style flower holder, and a candlestick all rendered in Seagraves’ signature “modern primitive” aesthetic.

The piece features a hand-sculpted songbird perched on a naturalistic log base, finished in a warm, earthy high-gloss glaze.

Measuring a full 8″ tall, with an oblong base that is 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, it is in excellent condition.
